Every year around this time we are feverishly planning for our signature charity event, a three generations tea that celebrate ladies 4 to 104 years old. We always have such a blast, but a lot goes into crafting an event that can entertain everyone, but it is well worth it when we raise funds for Alzheimer’s research.
Many, however, don’t know how this event started. In December 2019, I lost my grandmother to complications of Alzheimer’s and dementia. It was in the heart of pandemic and I had waited so many months before I could even see her and the day before I could finally sit with her again, she passed away.
One of the things she loved to do was just sit at her kitchen table with a strong cup of coffee or tea and just chat. In May 2020, we hosted our first annual 3 Generations Tea in Saint Augustine, Florida, with the hopes that others would be able to enjoy the women in their family while they are still here. We also raised money for Alzheimer’s research, and the rest is history.
If you are in the Northeast Florida area on May 11, we’d love for you to join us.
